About
Rebecca Kolb is a whimsical watercolor Illustrator and stop-motion Fabricator whose work combines the enchanting worlds of fairytales, nature, and femininity. With a BFA in Illustration, emphasizing entertainment, from the Laguna College of Art + Design, Rebecca’s work is deeply inspired by the magical and nostalgic illustrations of old fairytales, the darker themes of Brothers Grimm stories, and the natural world around her. Her style, which embraces the fantastical, evokes a sense of wonder and nostalgia, often drawing from the art of Art Nouveau, Disney concept artwork, and her passion for storytelling.
Rebecca’s illustrations have been featured in prominent galleries including Blind Insect Gallery, Archimedes Gallery, The Hive Gallery & Studios, and The Palos Verdes Art Center. Her work has been recognized with an award from the California Congressional Art Competition. A highlight of her career includes painting a large cat sculpture for the Coraline’s Curious Cat Trail in collaboration with LAIKA Studios and Downtown Portland, celebrating the 15th anniversary of Coraline while raising $324,500 for OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. LAIKA purchased the painted sculpture, which is now proudly installed on their studio grounds.
