"The Other Circus," Coraline's Curious Cat Trail

I painted and designed one of thirty-one hand-painted Coraline cat statues placed around Portland in a free art trail. These installations were the collaborative effort of LAIKA Studios, the Visit Downtown Campaign, Wild in Art, and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Coraline movie.

I am so honored that LAIKA purchased my cat installation, titled “The Other Circus.” It can be viewed outside in the studio's courtyard.
Coraline's Curious Cat Trail ran from August 2nd through October 13th, and culminated with an auction to find permanent homes for the statues with proceeds benefitting OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital. In total, $324,500 was raised for the hospital.
Coraline has always been one of my favorite movies and I was so excited to highlight the circus parts! My artwork as a whole has definitely been influenced by the movie.
