"The Dream" is a song by Cam-O the Chameleon, contemplating the randomness of dreams. I really enjoyed creating this claymation music video because I was given a lot of freedom with the content and animation style. The subject of dreams allows for so much imagination and fantasy, along with our subconscious fears.
I began the concept stage by listening to the song and writing down what visuals came to mind. I don't tend to draw right away during my creative process. I wrote down how many seconds I would want each scene to be and at what timings the characters would act. Then, I noted how the clay would transition and mold between scenes.

After I had made my notes, I made a quick storyboard. I color coded each panel to keep track of the clay I was using and play into the story's emotions through color. I also made notes about camera movement. I referenced this storyboard throughout the filming process and although I may have slightly strayed from some original ideas, found it to be essential.
